"Extinct" Tuatara Found

A subspecies of tuatara feared to be extinct has been rediscovered on Little Barrier Island. Four Sphenodon punctatus reischeki were found by a team from Victoria University. This type of tuatara, recently re-identified as a subspecies distinct from other tuatara [Nov issue], had not been seen since the late 70s. The team had an added bonus, finding a skink species that was also thought extinct.
